Marc Robinson presents his tribute to the great Buddy Holly, from '"Blue Days" to " True Love Ways" Rave On is a celebration to take you back to a time when cars had fins and skirts had petticoats.
Marc Robinson is a founder member of ' Rockin On Heavens Door ' with the Counterfeit Crickets. His attention to detail will have you disbelieving that 50 years have gone by since Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens left us. Marc will be joined by Michael King giving a sensitive tribute to Billy Fury featuring songs including Nothin Shakin, Halfway to Paradise, and Jealousy.

The music of the 60s springs to life and leaps on stage in this live tribute to many of the great names of the decade that brought you the Beatles, Herman’s Hermits, the Searchers, the Kinks and many more.
This was the time when the melodic sounds of Cliff Richard and Adam Faith competed with the Everly Brothers for the top spot in the music charts, the favourite dance, the Twist, was enjoyed by the middle aged as well as the young. Pop music still played on the juke boxes in coffee bars.

Slumdog Millionaire

Recent winner of 8 Oscars, Danny Boyle’s tale of a poor boy from the slums of Mumbai has captured imaginations worldwide. Jamal, his brother Salim and a girl called Latika are forced to survive by their wits on the streets. Jamal eventually ends up serving tea to call centre workers but gets on to the Indian version of “Who wants to be a Millionaire?”. How does a boy from the slums get so many answers right? When he is accused of cheating, we find out what his life has been like. Can he get the last answer correct and why is he on the programme in the first place?

Man on Wire
Director – James Marsh 2008 90 mins
The astonishing true story of Philippe Petit’s daring (and illegal) tightrope walk between the twin towers of New York’s World Trade Centre in 1974. The film uses archive footage, contemporary interviews and recreations to tell the story of his previous daring tightrope walks and the secret preparations for this daring and completely bonkers project. Showing with a local short made by West Lothian Youth Theatre, “Those Big Red Hills” directed by Lan McAffer and starring some local talent. (25mins )

The Regal Community Theatre is currently sharing its premises with West Lothian Council Arts Services. Staff and events normally based at Howden Park Centre in Livingston are based at the Regal for two years while Howden Park Centre undergoes a substantial redevelopment.
