George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a professional downsizer whose job has him flying all over the country to fire people so that companies can avoid that particular unpleasantness. His whole life can be packed into a carry-on suitcase and that’s how he likes it. Then his company hires Natalie Keener (Anna Kendrick)who thinks Ryan’s job can be done by video-link. To show her the error of her ways, he takes her with him on a trip which changes both of them in ways they never expected. Funny and affecting, nominated for 6 Oscars including one for Clooney who just keeps getting better and Vera Farmiga as his occasional girl-friend.

Starring Carey Mulligan, who was nominated for an Oscar and won a Bafta, and Peter Sarsgard. The screenplay, which was also nominated for ans Oscar, was written by Nick Hornby. An amusing look at life in a time of change.
