Hiring the Regal
At the Regal, we cater for all sorts of groups and all sorts of activities. We operate a sliding scale of charges, offering affordable accommodation.
Fees start at just £12 per hour for regular bookings by voluntary groups, ranging up to a very competitive £48 per hour for commercial hires.
There are additional charges for some services and our friendly and helpful staff guarantee that they will do everything possible to support your events and activities.

Please note that hirers must comply with terms and conditions and that particular conditions apply to public performances.

HIRE CHARGES
Regular Users
- Weekly/monthly non income generating £12.00 per hour
- Weekly/monthly income generating £18.00 per hour
When a long period of let is required for rehearsals, pre-show preparation and show, please take care to indicate your exact requirements on your booking form. Please make sure that all dates, times and facility requirements are completed. This will allow us to make sure that everything is arranged to your satisfaction.
Other Users
- Non income generating £18.00 per hour
- Income generating £24.00 per hour
- Performances £40.00 per hour
- Commercial £48.00 per hour
Concert rehearsals and/or set building and final pre show rehearsals for productions to be held in the Regal Community Theatre will be charged at half the income generating price i.e. £12.00 per hour up to a limit of 10 rehearsals. Set up and clear up time for such shows will also be charged at this rate.
Other Charges
- Late licence (until 1.00a.m. maximum) £20.00 per event
- Safety Inspection (where required) £25.00 per event
- Box Office facility £30.00 per performance
Sound & Lighting
Where Performance Lighting must be used, there is a Basic Charge of £12.00 per hour for use of sound and lights payable to The Regal regardless of whether Regal technician or own technician is being used.
If using the services of the Regal theatre technician (currently Sandy Crawford -07973132585), the lessee will require to negotiate charges with him and will be billed by him separately, in addition to the Basic Charge billed by the theatre.
If using own technician, the £12.00 per hour will still be billed by The Regal.
N.B. Written confirmation that technician is competent and insured is required.
Kitchen Area
As a rule, it is not possible to hire the kitchen. This area must be staffed by Regal Theatre staff. Hirers are welcome to arrange to have buffets etc catered by a registered outside supplier.
Please let us know of any catering requirements when booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Cancellations
Please let us have as much advance notice as possible if you have to cancel. Should an event be cancelled by the lessee within 14 days of the event, a 30% cancellation fee will be charged.
For cancellations within 2 month of the event, a 20% cancellation fee will be charged.
